Zmitser Dashkevich in a disciplinary cell again?

Zmitser Dashkevich got out of the disciplinary cell; however, according to the deputy head of the Department on Serving Punishments, Zmitser Dashkevich received another disciplinary punishment, for the third time since he had been sent to this colony.

The deputy head of the Department on Serving Punishment has informed to Nasta Palazhanka today that Dashkevich was punished for refusal to work. However, this is a big surprise as Zmitser informed in the letters to his father that he has an intention to work, and even gave the details – the work was supposed to be connected with wood processing materials.

Zmitser Dashkevich still was in the disciplinary cell on July 25, when his lawyer Marianna Semeshka managed to obtain access to her client. Zmitser had 20 minutes for a meeting with his lawyer.

Zmitser’s allies are worried that the third disciplinary punishment means sending him to the disciplinary cell again, as the colony’s administration implemented such practice against Zmitser Dashkevich before.

Zmitser managed to tell that he usually gets to a disciplinary cell due to different kinds of provocations. In particular, the prison administration prohibited other prisoners to talk to him so that Zmitser did not make a revolution in prison with his harmful ideas. Last time Dashkevich was sent to a disciplinary cell for a contact with a person. Official version claims “refusal to live in the residential area”. The colony’s administration refuses to explain what that means.

Confinement conditions of Zmitser Dashkevich correspond to strict regime, although he is sentenced to two years of common regime imprisonment. The prisoner has only 30-minutes walk instead of a two-hour one, he has been deprived from food parcels for 3 months and in fact has no opportunity to use finance freely to buy food in the colony – he is provided with the sum of 35 thousand roubles only (one base fee). Thus, the colony’s administration deprives him from any opportunities to get normal food apart from the prison “gruel”.

Dashkevich got into a disciplinary cell for 5 days for the first time, as soon as he arrived to the colony. Judging from breaks in the correspondence, it happened during the time period since June 27 till July 3.

The colony’s administration informed that Zmitser Dashkevich would be transferred to the cell-type premises after the third term in a disciplinary cell.

Zmitser asked to reveal the information about the outrage in the colony as “It cannot be worse for me here in any case”. Such words mean really hard confinement conditions and strong pressure on the political prisoner from the side of the prison administration.

Last time, on July 5, Dashkevich’s lawyer could not get to his client.

Let us remind you, you can support the political prisoner by sending him a letter:
